I guess the New Era didn’t quite turn out quite as well as they expected.
And for them as might be wondering, I live 10 crow miles from the explosion site and I slept right through it. Rannie from Photojunkie woke up and had a good view out his window, and Spacing, BlogTO and Torontoist have a roundup of pictures and video.

Glad to hear that you faired well during the explosion. The You Tube videos are amazing and frightening all at once.
When I was a kid, back in the ’60s, New Era had a revolving sign on the corner of the building that held a fridge, stove and a washing machine. The front windows on the Danforth side had room settings on display with the worst kitsch you have ever seen, like lamps with revolving shades with animated images of Niagara Falls, plaster dogs, cats, and tigers, and lots more.
